The Czech Association of Community Foundations was established in 2006. In the Czech Republic, the Association faces a shrinking space for civil society. Therefore, the Association tries to achieve effective grant making. To approach new major donors is one of the main current topics of the Association, along with the constant objective to inspire citizens to develop of new community foundations.

The Via Foundation, established in 1997, is an independent national foundation committed to strengthening community life and philanthropy in the Czech Republic. It supports the development of community philanthropy by working with donors, local initiatives, and partners across the country. Through its programmes, it promotes giving, builds local capacities, and contributes to the development and strengthening of community foundations and place-based philanthropy at the national level.
