Fund development is ultimately about building communities of people who believe in a shared purpose. Beyond raising resources, community foundations can create meaningful opportunities for donors to connect with one another, engage with local causes and a shared community-vision, and become active partners in creating change.
This session will explore a range of community-building approaches to fund development from across Europe, including giving circles, live crowdfunding events, sport-based fundraising initiatives, and other participatory models. Together, we will reflect on how these practices can strengthen donor engagement, foster a sense of belonging, and build long-term support rooted in trust, shared values, and collective action.
The conversation will be kicked off by:
- Mihaela Giurgiu, The Funding Network
Maria Ulceda, Almeria Community Foundation (Spain)
Daniela Chesaru, Timisoara Community Foundation (Romania)
Kevin Maloney, Community Foundation North East (UK)
