ECFI Fund Development Learning Journey

This peer learning experience designed to explore why and how to build a robust, flexible, and future-oriented fund development strategy for your organisation, drawing on the collective experience of community foundations across Europe.

Today more than ever, setting a solid, long-term fund development strategy is essential: one that places relationships at its core and supports not only programmes and projects, but also the broader mission, sustainability, and ambitions of community foundations. A strategy that aims to build, over time, assets and funds from a wide range of actors, including local citizens, other foundations, businesses, and public bodies, to fulfil the community foundation’s mission.

Public partnerships in focus: EU funds and beyond

5th of May at 15:00 CET

Public funding, and partnerships with public institutions, can offer valuable opportunities for community foundations to grow and advance their mission. At the same time, they require careful navigation. There is a risk of becoming primarily an implementer of public programmes, potentially diverting energy and focus away from a foundation’s core work and purpose.

In this session, we will explore the role of public funding—particularly EU funds—and reflect on how community foundations can engage with these opportunities in a strategic and intentional way.
