Data processing by us

The data you enter on our social media pages, such as your username, comments, videos, images, likes, public messages, etc., is published by the social media platform and is not processed by us for any other purposes. We only reserve the right to delete content if necessary. We may share your content on our website if this is a feature of the social media platform and communicate with you via the social media platform.

If you send us a request on the social media platform, we may refer you to other secure communication channels that ensure confidentiality, depending on the content. For example, you can always send your requests to us at the address given in the legal notice or to info@communityfoundations.eu. The choice of the appropriate communication channel is your own responsibility.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Data processing is carried out in the interests of our public relations work and communication with you.

For advertising purposes, we use demographic, interest-based, behavior-based, or location-based target group definitions that may be made available to us by the operator of the social media platform. If you wish to object to the processing of certain data over which we have control, please contact us using the contact details provided in the legal notice. We will then review your objection or forward it to the social media platform if necessary.

Joint controllership

We are jointly responsible with the respective operator of the social media platform for some of the processing activities. We have therefore concluded the necessary agreement in accordance with Art. 26 GDPR, provided that the operator of the social media platform allows this.

Use of findings

Some social media platforms compile statistics based on usage data and receive information about your interaction with our social media page. We cannot influence or prevent the creation and provision of these statistics. We process this information in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR in the legitimate interest of validating the use of our social media pages and improving our content in line with our target audience.

In connection with the operation of our Facebook page, we use Meta’s (Facebook) Insights feature to obtain statistical data about the users of our Facebook page. This is done on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR, based on our interest in being able to measure the use of our presence on Facebook.

You can find out what information is used for this purpose in the “Information about Page Insights Data.” There you will also find information about the joint responsibility of us and Meta (Facebook) when using the Insights function. Furthermore, you will find information there about your rights as a data subject. We have entered into an agreement with Meta (Facebook). In this agreement, we have agreed that Meta (Facebook) is primarily responsible for informing you about the joint processing and enabling you to exercise your rights under the GDPR.

Data processing by the operator of the social media platform

The operator of the social media platform uses web tracking methods. Web tracking can also take place regardless of whether you are logged in or registered on the social media platform.

We would therefore like to point out that it cannot be ruled out that the provider of the social media platform may use your profile and behavioral data to analyze your habits, personal relationships, preferences, etc. We have no influence on the processing of your data by the provider of the social media platform, so that the use of the social media platform is at your own risk.

For more information on data processing by the social media platform provider, settings options for protecting your privacy, and other options for objecting, as well as the agreement pursuant to Art. 26 GDPR, if one exists and has been concluded, please refer to the provider’s privacy policy:

Duration of storage

We will delete your personal data as soon as it is no longer required for the aforementioned processing purposes and provided that there are no legal retention obligations to the contrary.

Your rights as a data subject

As a data subject, you have the right to obtain information about your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR) and to have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR) or deleted if one of the reasons specified in Art. 17 GDPR applies, e.g. if the data is no longer required for the purposes pursued. You also have the right to restrict processing if one of the conditions specified in Art. 18 GDPR applies and, in the cases specified in Art. 20 GDPR, the right to data portability. If the processing of data is based on your consent, you are entitled under Art. 7 GDPR to revoke your consent to the use of your personal data at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. Every data subject also has the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if they believe that the processing of data concerning them violates data protection regulations (Article 77 GDPR).

Right to object

In cases where we process your personal data on the legal basis of Art. 6 (1) (e) or (f) GDPR, you have the right to object at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation. We will then no longer process the personal data unless there are demonstrably compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or the processing serves to assert, exercise, or defend legal claims.

You also have the right to object at any time to the processing of your data for direct marketing purposes. This also applies to profiling related to direct marketing.
