Filling the SDG void in Braunschweig/Germany

This short reflection illustrates how a community foundation in Braunschweig took on a pioneering role in introducing the SDGs at the local level. Faced with low awareness and limited institutional ownership, the foundation gradually built understanding and relevance by linking global goals to local realities. The experience highlights the importance of persistence, internal buy-in and practical tools—such as local reporting—to make the SDGs meaningful for communities and stakeholders.
